“Brand X Editions: Innovation in Screenprinting” at the Philadelphia Art Museum

From the Philadelphia Art Museum:

“This exhibition celebrates the transformative gift of the Brand X archive of over 400 screenprints to the permanent collection of the Philadelphia Art Museum. Sharing 45 years of collaborative work between founder Robert Blanton (and his team of printers and chromists) and a constellation of artists, this show will address subjects relating to identity, language, design, landscape, and politics while exploring artistic process and innovative technique.”

The exhibition is on view from July 5, 2025 to November 16, 2025.

From ABC News:

“We're the caretakers of their archive and we'll also be receiving one new impression of everything that they publish for the next ten years… the gift includes everyone from the old standards, like Chuck Close and Alex Katz, to Jennifer Bartlett and Vija Celmins, and Rashid Johnson and Joel Mesler, and a whole new crew of young artists."

- Louis Marchesano, Curator of "Brand X Editions: Innovation in Screenprinting" and the Marion Boulton "Kippy" Stroud Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs and Conservation at the Philadelphia Art Museum
